Save A Pet - How it works

Find out how we've helped pets with life saving support

Save A Pet was the brainchild of Peter B Leeming who created the Animal Welfare Trust (Charity Number: 1043095) which was set up to help provide vital funds to support a pet in need of emergency care where the owner may not be able to cover the full costs of treatment and the only alternative is the end of a pet’s life. We have all experienced difficult times where we may have been unable to pay for an essential need or a bill, but our pets should not have to suffer because of that. That's why the charity was created, to ensure that didn't happen and we could lend a helping hand where we could.

When a pet is in need of life threatening treatment, their Vet will assess the situation and contact us where the owners insurance does not cover the full cost of treatment or the owner is struggling to pay for treatment themselves. Save A Pet will then assess the owners situation and make a decision based on how much we can provide to help cover any shortfall. In all cases, owners must consult their vets initially who will then contact us.
